Reflections on Driving and Wildlife Encounters
An exploration of the unexpected moments that come with driving, including encounters with wildlife and the impact of roadkill.
Driving has been a part of my life since 1981, and during this time, I've had my share of experiences on the road. One of the more poignant aspects of driving is the interaction with wildlife, particularly when it comes to roadkill.
In all my years behind the wheel, I've only hit one squirrel. This unfortunate encounter occurred when the squirrel made a sudden decision to run under my moving vehicle, highlighting the unpredictable nature of driving.
These moments serve as a reminder of the delicate balance between our travels and the natural world. Each drive carries with it the potential for unexpected interactions, making us more aware of our surroundings.
